Just saw a lady get out of the passenger side of a car, go open the driver side of the car, and let her male companion out. When they came in, I asked them about it (thinking that there was a health issue involved, or maybe the door wouldn’t open from the inside).

The man said, “I was raised as a gentleman, and I prefer to be treated that way. My girlfriend agrees with me. A lady will open a door for a gentleman in civilized society.”

Truly, I am at a loss for words to understand people today. I’m fairly certain that comment made me cross-eyed.
